Tips and tricks for keeping vegetables longer

We were thought not to waste food growing up. Countless people are facing emergency levels of hunger and can’t afford to buy food. Let’s appreciate food. Every meal is a blessing.

Leftovers can last up to 3-4 days in the fridge.

1)Don’t store fruit and vegetables together. Fruits that produce ethylene gasses can harm other fruits and vegetables and lead to the over-ripening of nearby produce. It’s better to keep them at least 6-8 inches away.

2)Separate vegetables and avoid storing ethylene-sensitive vegetables such as cilantro, cabbage, and mushrooms near ethylene-resistant produce such as taro and squash.

3)It’s best to keep vegetables unwashed until you are ready to use them, but if you want to wash them, make sure to wash them thoroughly under cold water. Keep them outside and let them dry before moving them to the fridge.
